Privacy Policy

Overview
MiniLib runs primarily on your device. Your reading data stays local and syncs through your personal iCloud account. The features described below either contact third parties directly from your device (without us in the middle) or are strict opt-in and turned off by default.
Book Search (OpenLibrary)
When you search for a book or look up an ISBN, the app contacts the OpenLibrary API (operated by the Internet Archive, United States) directly from your device. We do not run a server in between and do not store your search queries. OpenLibrary receives the technical metadata that any HTTP request includes (such as your IP address) and processes it under its own privacy policy.
Analytics
Anonymous product analytics are disabled by default. You can enable them in Settings; until you do, no
analytics events leave your device. When enabled, anonymous usage events are sent to PostHog on its EU-cloud
infrastructure (eu.i.posthog.com). We do not collect profiles, identifiers, or advertising IDs, and we do
not link events to your identity.
Crash Reporting
Crash reporting is disabled by default. You can enable it in Settings; until you do, no crash data
leaves your device. When enabled, technical crash reports are sent to Sentry on its EU infrastructure
(de.sentry.io, Germany). Reports contain stack traces and device/OS metadata needed to diagnose the
crash. We do not enable performance tracing or session replay.
Camera
The camera is only accessed when you use the ISBN barcode scanner. The image is processed on your device to read the barcode and is never transmitted to us or any third party.
Photo Library
The photo library is only accessed when you choose a custom book cover from your photos. Selected images stay in your library on the device and are synced through your iCloud (Apple) account. We do not receive a copy.
iCloud Sync
Your reading data syncs through your personal iCloud account, where Apple acts as the processor. We do not have access to this data.
Your Rights and Choices
Analytics and crash reporting are off by default. You can change either setting at any time under Settings → Privacy. Since the events we may collect are anonymous and not linked to your identity, we are not in a position to identify, export, modify, or delete data tied to a specific person on request. To stop sending data, disable the relevant toggle in Settings.
Legal Basis
Where personal data is processed (Art. 6 GDPR), processing is based on your consent for analytics and crash reporting (Art. 6(1)(a)) and on legitimate interest in providing the core book-search functionality (Art. 6(1)(f)). iCloud sync runs under your account with Apple.
